Switched stereo channels

Hi,

some users of Audacity have reported that a given stereo-track with a testsignal (left channel playing first, right channel playing last) is playing exactly the opposite. This means that Audacity is switching the channels. This is observed with 1.2.6 as well as with 1.3.7

Any explanation? Any parameter to set?

Thx

Uli

Perhaps they have a lead wired up the wrong way round. There are no settings in Audacity that relate to this.

The fault has been reported in one case in combination with Vista.

The playback has been tested with Audacity and with another player and the playback by Audacity has swapped channels.

With Audacity 1.2.4 the file looks correctly like

and with 1.37 I have got the picture

Where was it reported? Reported by who?

That's quite odd - while the two look similar, the time scale indicates that the two screen shots are not the same file - so what are you trying to say?
