1/2 second delay when monitoring

1/2 second delay when monitoring

For whatever reason, I now have this ~1/2 second delay when monitoring. I dont know what has changed because when I first started recording the monitor worked wonderfully. Any ideas as to why I now have this delay?

"Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O tab" - uncheck "software playthrough".
