The Audacity 1.2 manual is available for download from this page: http://audacityteam.org/help/documentation

You can download it either in HTML format (read it in your web browser), or in PDF format (read it with "Acrobat Reader" or "Foxit").

The HTML format link says "Download the Audacity manual in HTML format."
The PDF format links says "Download the Audacity manual in PDF format."

Right click on one of those links and select "Save" or "Save As" or "Download" (depending on what options you browser offers).
Save the downloaded file to your Desktop so that you can find it.

If you get the HTML version, you need to "unzip" (extract) it from the Zip file.

The Audacity 1.3 / 1.4 manual is not yet complete, so you would be best to view it on-line if possible: http://audacityteam.org/manual/index.ph ... =Main_Page

Most of the 1.3/1.4 manual is available in RTF format (can be opened in Microsoft Word / Open Office / and similar programs) and can be downloaded here: http://audacityteam.org/manual/export/A ... Manual.rtf
