installing both versions
I have V1.2.6 installed but would like to try the beta version. Can it be installed in a different folder so as to leave the stable version as is?

Absolutely you can - just be aware that you can't actually run both at the same time.
And more importantly be awre that you can open and edit a 1.2 project in 1.2 but not the other way around. And once a 1.2 project has beem opened/edited/saved in 1.3 then it cannot be re-opened in 1.2.

However, if you don't use Projects, like me, then the Exported WAV files open perfectly either direction.
