hi

i'm not sure at all where this would go, so i figured this was one of the most neutral places to post my question.

i have searched the license, but i can't seem to find any information when it comes to copyright on the music you make in audacity.
i'm in the process of a project which will later become an album, and of course i'd like to share it (for free). i'm just getting insecure about whether or not i can actually do that when i have used some of audacity's effects, mostly it's click-track, on some of the songs. does the license stop me from making my music public?

Ah, Audacity is wonderful - there are no such restrictions. Audacity is free and open source and is available for you to use.

"Audacity is free software. You may use it for any personal, commercial or educational purpose"

You may be interested in looking here for an appropriate license for your music. http://creativecommons.org/
If you want your music to be free, then that does not mean that you do not need to legally protect it - I'm sure that you would be most unhappy is a commercial company took your music and slapped their commercial licence on it. An appropriate license can help to keep your work free and available, without exposing you to exploitation.

thanks for your reply! though i feel pretty stupid having overseen that part - considered it's the first line in the license! i've been to fast, i guess.

regarding the creative commons license: it has been my purpose to license it through creative commons all the time, but thanks anyway!

i'll be sure to mention audacity in some way when i'm done with the album - it's a really good piece of software for my needs and i have been really fond of using it so far.
