I've been using my Line 6 toneport for a year or so with no problems using S/PDIF-in.
Until I wanted to record my playing over an MP3 backing track. So I set to 'Record what you hear' .
That caused a horrendous echo feeding back on itself. So I switched back to input of 'S/PDIF-in'. The echo no longer feedsback, but it's still there !
It's about a half second delay added to original sound.
So something's changed when I initially switched from 'S/PDIF-in' to 'what you hear'.
Any ideas ?
thanks

Re: Unwanted echo
turn off the "Software Playthrough" either in Preferences or from the Tracks drop-down menu. If you have this selected while trying to record what is playing on the computer ("what you here", "stereo mix" etc.) you will create a feedback loop (the symptoms you describe).

Re: Unwanted echo
Somehow software play through got enabled when I switched to what you hear.
Now I've switched it off & no more echo.
Many thanks
