I have a question regarding the creation of original music content. As stated in the ToS and usage agreement I am not sure as to the ability of anyone to hold the copyright for creation of original musical content.
If someone can please answer me this as I am a new user, is the creator of original musical content, such as music files for videos created for YouTube or any other platform, the holder of a copyright?
I am musically inclined and have some talent that I wish to use in making my own videos, would I be the copyright holder of the musical content?
Thanks in advance for any reply. I am hopeful that this will be place that I can chat about necessary questions and get honest answers from the people I interact with. Your answers either negative or positive will always be welcomed and appreciated.
Peace Out!

Yes in principle, but subject to the laws of your country and if you choose to publish on YouTube, with whatever conditions apply in their TOS.journeyer wrote:I have a question regarding the creation of original music content. Audacity is just an audio editor. It comes without warranty. You can use it for any legal purpose but once you made the recording the legal headaches are yours, not ours.

Re: Creation of Original Content
Gale, thank you for the clarification. It was and is my intent to use Audacity in a legal and ethical manner, which will not infringe on the copyright of Audacity and its affiliates. My sole intent is to create video and audio tracks with Audacity to enhance the experience of making my videos.
Thank you again for the information. You have been most kind answering my question so quickly and I am grateful for the opportunity to use Audacity in creating my videos.

Re: Creation of Original Content
The content is entirely up to you. It starts getting sticky if you want to supply the Audacity Program itself to others, but there's even provision to do that correctly.
If Audacity performs correctly and in a beneficial manner, you might consider contributing to the effort.
