Following feedback from initial testing of the new functionality, Martyn has made a couple of changes that should stop the furrowed brows happening in the future:

I have made a further commit that:
1) Disallows +ve values by greying out OK and Preview.
2) Converts a positive number found in prefs to a negative (but see below re presets).
3) Defaults the max amplitude to -1.0dB (a sensible value, and showing that it should be negative to new users).
4) Save/Load the presets from [Presets], rather than [CSPresets]. This has the side effect of ignoring previous versions.

This will mean that it should be impossible to generate clipping with Normalize in the future (unlike now, where entering a negative number in the box will induce clipping) - to do that you would need to go to the Amplify effect where clippng is "frowned upon" by the GUI but can be forced by ticking the check-box to allow clipping (if that's what you really want to do, for whatever reason).

I haven't had a chance to test these yet, I will have to wait for the next 1.3.14 nightly build.
