How do I compress the file size when I save a Mp3 file?

File > Export > MP3 Files > Options > Quality.

That's the compression bitrate. 32 for a mono show and 64 for stereo are considered minimums. Lower than that and most people can hear MP3 damage -- bubbling, gargling, and honking. Audacity picks a nice 128 that's good for most people and most shows.

If you start out life with MP3s in your show you may find that you must use a very high bitrate and large file size to avoid damage. MP3 always makes damage and it rapidly adds up if you need multiple MP3 compressions -- MP3 compressing an MP3.
