Length of recorded time changes

Post by FirstLoveMusical » Tue Feb 08, 2011 10:54 am

Each time I bring a recording backing into Audacity the overall length of time of the recording changes. It's about three tenths of a second, but if you do this several times you continue to add time to the recording. Any suggestions, or is this an inherent fault of the program? I've included three printscreens of the same file showing the lenght of time changing.

That looks like a lot less than 0.3 seconds difference.
If you look at the times in the "Selection Toolbar" at the bottom of the main Audacity window (set it to hh:mm:ss +milliseconds) it will show the times to the nearest millisecond.

What sort of file are you importing? MP3?
