Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew what the effect used on the guitar in Yoshimi battles the Pink Robots (Pt. 1), and what the best way to replicate this sound in Audacity would be.

Re: Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (Pt. 1) Guitar Effect?
If you're talking about the acoustic guitar, it sounds to me like two separate performances panned hard left and right. There's enough difference that I don't think it is delay of one performance. Also note that he appears to be playing a 12-string.

At one point they show a solid body electric guitar (around 1:37), though at that point it sounds to me more like an Ovation (with a 12 string semi-acoustic guitar panned the other side).

I couldn't hear any special guitar effects on that tune... what effect were you referring to?

It has a rapid stop, like a computer glitch type sound almost at each strum.

That's not an effect, it's a technique. The strings are damped with the strumming hand immediately after the strum. It is similar to "palm muting" except that the strings are not damped by the palm until after the strum.Leo Ruby wrote:It has a rapid stop, like a computer glitch type sound almost at each strum.
