Hi. I am using the Audacity Beta on Windows 7 64-bit with the MSI N8400GS D512H multimedia card and cannot record internally the way I used to. My sound driver is set to High Definition Audio and I have downloaded the latest MSI N8400GS D512H drivers, but there is still no way I can capture sound internally.

There is no problem capturing anything that has a plug that goes into the back, but without those plugs I can't capture anything I'm listening to, and of course if the plugs are in that's only for recording from an external source.

I'm really upset with this multimedia card. Any solutions?

It might be because they warn you that if you download anything that's copyright their drivers might not work. If that's the case and they are selling policing software, I hope nobody buys the MSI products. Has anyone else had problems with this card?

If the manufacturer is very clear about the evils of capturing on-line content, it's a simple matter to leave that software out of their drivers. Internet Capture depends on the Operating System, the Sound Card, and the Driver Software to all be willing to do it at the same time. If any one of them drops the ball, you lose.

Since you're on a Windows machine, you could use Total Recorder.
