Re: playing town the treble
You could either use the "Equalizer" effect, or the (much more simple) Tone Control plug-in that you can download from here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 28&t=21920

Re: playing town the treble
Thank you for your help. I really wouldn't know where to start under the equalisation setting, it's not very user friendly.
I have downloaded the tonecontrol file which is exactly what I wanted and it now rests under the plug ins for audacity yet when I go on audacity itself there is no effect.
I'm using Windows Vista here. Is the plugin meant for Ubuntu?

Re: playing town the treble
The plug-in will work on all platforms (Windows/Mac/Linux).
The downloaded file is a ".ZIP" file, which is an "archive" file.
If you double click on the ZIP file it will open and show you the "tonecontrol.ny" file. You need to copy this "tonecontrol.ny" and put that into the plug-ins folder, then restart Audacity. The effect will then be listed toward the bottom of the "Effect" menu.

Re: playing town the treble
^that's exactly what I had done but still it didn't appear.
I then reinstalled audacity so now there is the 1.3 version on my computer, then retried putting it in plug ins. It workedand now it appears under effects. Am looking forward to using it.
Thanks a bunch.
