Often, especially during live recording, I <Ctrl-m> a label in the vicinity of where I will want to edit something or partition off a region. Later, I find the exact spot, leave the cursor there and try to move the label to it. This involves a lot of zooming to get it right. It would be much simpler if the label handle behaved like the cursor when it gets close to a selection boundary or the cursor.

Thanks, we have quite a few votes suggesting labels should snap to waveform elements like clips and other labels. I'll add a vote for your idea.

As a work-around, what I do is snap the cursor to the place I want the label and create a new label before deleting the old. This involves a bit of extra work but is often easier in the long run.

Given your scenario the label might want to "stick" to the mouse pointer while you zoomed, clicked and played looking for the exact spot at which to drop the label (I use a CAD program which does it this way).

Suggestion: If the label and the cursor are coincident, double-clicking on any label handle would select both the label and the cursor. For the implementation to be friendly to the laptop user with a touch-pad, the handles should be a little bigger to make double-clicking on them easier.
