Is there a .pdf version of the Audacity Manual, which can be downloaded onto one's computer?

Or is the manual online only?

There is no .pdf version of the 1.3 Manual unfortunately.

As it says on the front page of the online Manual, if you download the installer (.exe) version of Audacity it includes an offline copy of the Manual. You can read this by clicking Help > Manual (in web browser) from inside Audacity.

If it is more convenient you can also navigate in Explorer to the helpmanual folder inside the Audacity installation folder, then double-click on index.html to open it in your web browser. If you bookmark that page, you can then always open the Manual from your browser.
