Does transfering audio between computers ruin sound quality?

Hello,
I have just a simple question. My Zune has stopped working for my main desktop computer. Every time I connect it with USB, it keeps giving me the connect and disconnect sound every two seconds.
So, as a moderator on the Zune Scene forum mentioned, I tried connecting my Zune to my laptop and it connected fine without the sounds going off and on and Windows 7 even recommended an update to fix the issue.
I'm gonna transfer all my songs from my desktop computer to my laptop by either transferring them through AIM or possibly just connecting a CAT 4 network cable between the two computers.
Anyway, which way of transferring my songs should I do? Through AIM or through CAT4?
If I copy and paste audio or even transfer the songs through AIM, will the quality of the songs decrease?
I ask this because I have high quality WAVS and mostly 320 kbps MP3's of albums and records I have.
If I also copy and paste songs, will it decrease the quality of my original songs on my desktop computer.
I ask this because I'm somewhat of an audiophile about quality sometimes and this was on my mind. Thanks for bearing with the somewhat ridiculous question!
