Is this right? (please correct me if I've got anything wrong):
You are using Audacity 1.3.11 beta
Windows Vista 32 bit.
ACER 3200 laptop.
The Audacity "Devices" settings are:
host - mme
playback - realtek
recording - line in realtek - 2 (stereo)
Quality
sampling - 44100hz - 16-bit
real time convertion - high quality sinc - none
high quality convertion - high quality sinc - shaped
You have checked in the Windows Control Panel: the default recording device is RealTek Microphone and the default playback device is RealTek Speakers.
All correct, except its a PC not a laptop.
Audacity opens OK but has never successfully recorded on this computer.
Was successful until last week.
Audacity does not play back imported audio files.
It does.
Attempting to record or playback causes an error message.
Originally i got the error message as first post, now it attempts to record, does upto 1 second. Yesterday i got it recording, but it kept pausing and unpausing along.
Your computer is set to show hidden files.
Not aware what that is.
There is no audacity.cfg file in Users<user name>AppDataRoamingAudacity
If you mean when i click the computers username, there a folder called AppDataRoamingAudacity, then no.
I ran audacity.cfg, nothing.
You are able to play audio files with Windows Media Player.
I use iTunes no problem, that the same thing?
You are able to record with Windows Sound Recorder.
THAT question has freaked me out, i just did that yesterday, although audacity didn't recognise it. Do you guys know what i do on my PC? Now im thinking of deleting audacity, because you lot are hacking into my pc.
IS IT WORTH ME DOWNLOADING THE PREVIOUS VERSION????????????????????????????????????????????????? am i a freaking guineapig via beta hmm like windows with their new versions of IE.......
