Error - wont record
"please check the imput device settings and the project sample rate".
I can't find this anywhere.
On another computer, the recording is working no problem.

Re: Error - wont record
You should try and post under the forum for the type of computer you have rather than the general forum. Now, the first thing I'm going to ask you is what kind of computer you have. Operating system version anything else you can tell us.
Some of the Audacity settings change depending on your computer.

And you're trying to record what? Live performance in front of a microphone? Type of microphone?

Re: Error - wont record
Record from the tv via a jack-jack cable which i'd been doing for the previous 4/5 weeks, and works no problem on my laptop.

Root around in Audacity Preferences and make sure they're set to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. It might be set to 32-bit. Restart Audacity and see if you get the same error message when you try to record.

I'm also unable to export to MP3 with ver 1.3 on an XP SP2 machine. Attempting to record Internet radio 16bit and 44100. Works good in ver 1.2.6

You make that sound like one question. It's probably not.
Do you have the "lame" software package installed? Audacity has to ship without the ability to export to MP3. If you want to export MP3, you have to install lame as a separate event.

Internet Audio does not magically get better if you "upgrade" it to 44100, 16-bit Stereo. You're just going to get a really big file with exactly the same quality on it. If you can't record internet audio at all, you may have a setting wrong -- or your computer may not do that at all.

Why don't you just say you don't know how to fix it than writing something and telling me nothing.
