I have used audacity before but this time I can't get any sound from my computer. I need to transfer some tapes to my computer and I hooked up the tape player with the cord into the earplug and the other into the computer (the black plug that I guess is the inline) and I still can't get any sound. Can someone please help me and try to figure this out. My friend has cancer and wants to take her music with her on cd to the hospital.
Thanks so much

You should be looking for the blue input socket for a line-in on a PC - labelled with an icon on Macs I believe - see this page in tha manual:
http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... _Recording

I hope your sick friend gets better ...

P.S. I edited your post to disguise the email address you gave - spambots trawl forums like this looking for email addresses to bombard.
