How do I get audio & label tracks to stay synched together?

Post by mef1975 » Thu Jan 07, 2010 4:09 am

when CUTTING?

1.3.11

I click and drag to select an area in the middle of an audio track. Its label track is also included in the selection. I CUT the selection, hoping that the audio and labels will remain lined up, but they don't... The audio snaps back to get rid of the space I created, but the labels don't. This didn't seem to be a problem in 1.2.6... The labels lined up fine when I tried it there, but 1.2.6 wasn't capable of changing the speed/tempo of the audio and labels keeping them lined up (another similar issue where the audio would change, but the labels wouldn't). I needed 1.3.11 to do that properly. I've tried importing/exporting labels between the 2 versions, but that seemed to mess with the accuracy... By the time I was done, I noticed some labels were off, how much, I don't know... Haven't gotten that far yet. Can anyone help me?

EDIT:
Of course, I've been keeping the label track underneath the audio track, hoping that would help link them.
Here's where it all started...

Cut the section out of the audio track with "Split Delete" (Alt + Ctrl + K) this will delete the selection, but nothing will move.
Now move the cursor to the end of the selection and select from there to the end of the project (Shift + End).
Make sure that the label track is also selected (Shift + Click below track name to toggle selection).
Cut the selection (Ctrl +X) then move to the end of the remaining track (K)
and paste the selection (Ctrl + C)
