decreasing bass level

Hi, I'm pretty new to Audacity but I've found it very useful when working with my music recordings. I'm using ver. 1.26

I have some recordings which sound better when played back on speakers with low bass, or if I'm listening to it using crappy speakers with minimal bass output and lots of treble.
I'm wondering if I can decrease bass and increase treble through Audacity so I won't have to adjust my speakers.

Thanks.

Yes you can.
Use the "Equalizer" effect -
select the track, go to the effects menu and click on"Equalizer" and set the sliders on the left (left is bass, right is treble) at a lower level.

I'd recommend you try Audacity 1.3.10 - it's really good :D
