Need Help removing ventrillo key clicks from a audio from a
I friend if mine made a video of a fight in a video game. The recording software took audio from his soundboard and during this he did not have his ventrilo set to not play sound clicks, so during the movie you hear the ventrilo sounds to confirm push to talk button is pressed. I am trying to remove these sounds from the video. I had tried noise reduction, but that seems to work opposite of what I want. The noise I'm trying to remove is for the most part the loudest part of the video, its not a his or a hum, so when I isolated the sound and did noise removal, the best i was left with was pretty much just the clicks I was trying to remove. Next I tried to just silence the part, which is better than the clicks themselves but in the finished audio you can hear the silence. I was able to get a background music of the battle he was in and decided to line them up best i could timewise and then copy clean backgro9und music over the clicks, and this works best so far, but is a long drawn out process of lining them up. What I need to know, is there an easier way. I know the sound i want to remove, is there a plugin I'm missing for removing this audio that is loud not quiet like the hum/hiss. Is there a plugin that will anaylyze the waveform of original with the audio i want to remove and compare it to the clean background I have to automatically alighn them by doing a best fit?

Never mind, I was able to get an acceptable result. Tried using the plugin for voice removal and that worked to some degree but also lost several other pieces of audio. Read about the pluggin and here is what I did, esentially what the plugin does, but did it manually so that I could have further control. I split the audio in left and right mono, went to the right channel and inverted ONLY the parts that had the noise from the ventrillo clicks, they were easy to pick out do to their uniform signal. The result was a little better that simply silencing that part of the audio. This seems to had worked as it appears that the ventrillo click audio is in both channels, and by only inverting the clicks you can leave the rest of the audio alone for better audio in rest of file.

Since you're doing it manually anyway, you may be doing too much work.
Select the whole show and Effect > Normalize > Remove DC (lots of tools work a whole lot better when you do this first).
Then zoom into each sound so you can select it accurately and Edit > Silence Audio. Zoom back out and select the next sound.
I do this all the time with productions and make extensive use of Zoom into Selection (Control E), Zoom out Full (Control-F) and Zoom Out A Little Bit(Control-3).
