My OS is PCLinuxOS, and I want to install Audacity. I'm used to the automatic in MS's XP, and can't even open the dowloadpackage, do someone know the situation and it's solution?

Re: Installing in PCLinuxOS
The best way to install software in PCLinuxOS is with Synaptic, http://docs.pclinuxos.com/HowToInstallSoftware
If you are new to Linux, I'd recommend that you try several different distros before you settle on one. I know that a lot of people like PCLinuxOS because it looks familiar to Windows users, but it's not Windows, it's Linux, and sometimes the resemblance to Windows can cause confusion.
Debian based distros, and Ubuntu based distros both use Synaptic for "package management" (installing stuff).
