Record from speakers.
I've heard that Audacity can record audio from the copmuter (what's coming out of the speakers), but I've tried a lot of different preferences and nothing works. How should I do to record the things coming out of my speakers (without and hadware difference).
Re: Record from speakers.
Bump...
Re: Record from speakers.
You need to select the appropriate input from your mixer application (for example alsamixergui ). Exactly which control this is depends on your hardware, drivers and mixer, so you will probably have to fiddle around with it to find the correct settings.

I've done alot of fiddeling. So could someone try to describe what I am looking for?
Re: Record from speakers.
It may be worth having a look at "Sound Recorder" - this is a very simple Linux application for recording sound (a bit like the Windows Sound Recorder). If you can get that working it will give you a good insight into how to set up for Audacity.

Where is that music coming from to the speaker? CD? internet radio? tv application?
Can you see the mixer?

I'm using Ubuntu 7.10.
The music is from a flash player.
Yes, I do see the mixer.
Still haven't got it to work
