Hi,
I followed links to d/l audacity for SuSE 10.3. 1-click install gives the error message "missing required parameter" (in firefox 2.0.0.8). The link "1.3.4 openSUSE 10.3 i586" (to get the RPM) as well as "1.3.4 openSUSE 10.2 i586"both just link back to the same page, http://packman.links2linux.org/package/286/48809 I don't get any rpm file. I was actually hoping to get the 1.2.6 (more stable) version, but I keep ending up at the 1.3.4 page. I'd like to be able to get a stable RPM, mostly because I want something that's mature and stbale, but I also tried compiling from the source tarball. The typical [./configure][ make][ make install] fails because I don't have g++ anywhere on my system, and after installing a bunch of dependencies, I finally hit a dead end at libstdc++ and the compiler can't build itself because there's no compiler installed... I have been here before with Red Hat. I couldn't get g++ in any obvious way from the software source and I felt like I was straying fara way from the problem domain, trying to build a compiler so I can compile a package, so I can get a product that will assist me in converting my vinyl to mp3. I'd rather focus my time on getting the rpm, if there is one. Is there? I don't mind ordering a CD, but it looks like that's mainly for windows users who are looking for an msi package, and that's not me.
hopefully ,
David

I've not got SUSE installed, but Google brought up this: http://en.opensuse.org/Audacity
If that gives you v 1.3.x rather than 1.2.x, don't worry about it, a lot of Linux distros use 1.3 as it has been around quite a while and is pretty stable.
