I have just installed ubuntu 7.10 and cannot seem to find a source file to Audacity that works.
Please note that I have no previous knowledge of any linux based stuff at all
Any help much appreciated

Open up Symantic and search for Audacity (select "Name" as the type of search). You will then see Audacity listed - click on it and select it for installation, then click on "Apply". It may be a slightly out of date version that is installed, but this is an easy way to install it (It is in the "universe" repository).

i have also installed audacity on a linux op sys. but my issues are with the type of computer not the software audacity. i have installed the same os on three different computers and two are amd comps and one is a p4 comp. the one with the p4 is the one im having issues with. i can not seem to get past the first time use screen then it closes the program down. any clues ??
