installing audacity

i am a very new usre f linux.i have sabayon insatlled and do not know how to install new packages/applications...had difficulty finding the right version to match sbyaon linux.help!!

I think Sabyon uses the "Gentoo Portage" system for package management.

Sabyon is a very cool Linux disto, but possibly not the easiest for beginners. If you find it too much of a headache, you could always try using a different distro for a while until you get to know a bit more about how Linux works.

IHMO Ubuntu is a good distro to start with as the installer is extremely easy to use (you can have your system up and running in about 20 minutes), and there is masses of information on the internet because it is so widely used. Ubuntu uses "Synaptic" for installing software, which again is very easy to use.
