itunes won't import aiff

my itunes 8.1.1. on my 10.4.11 mac won't import aiff files from audacity. mp3's are fine but when attempting to import aiff, the plus sign in the green dot hangs for a few seconds then disappears.

When you Export As AIFF, make sure you're not exporting 32-bit floating, the Audacity Default.
Sometimes downstream applications and tools don't like or understand 32-bit floating. Open the AIFF in QuickTime and Get INFO.
