Intel Macs were never intended to use Audacity 1.2.6. Their program is 1.2.5, but the combination of 1.2.5, Intel and Leopard (10.5) isn't particularly stable or useful, either.

You should trash the current Audacity application and the preference file/folder...

/Users/koz/Library/Application Support/audacity

...and download Audacity 1.3.7 instead.

What about Audacity.com's caveat: "The latest release of Audacity is 1.3.7 (Beta). Because it is a work in progress and does not yet come with complete documentation or translations into foreign languages, it is recommended for more advanced users. See New Features in 1.3 for more information about the 1.3.x Beta series."

Is that just super caution? With the brilliance of your response to my earlier question, I am tempted to follow your advise, without further adieu - but when I downloaded 1.2.5, I do so with that warning in mind.

Audacity 1.2.5 on Mac OS X 10.5.6, 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB SDRAM, 380 GB HDD [128 GB internal, 252 LaCie external]

Thanks, again

Ok, the Audacity 1.3.7 loaded up. Thanks. Though the ION TTUSB05 USB Turntable isn't sending an output signal to record. I have tried it several times by creating a file and recorded a strip but nothing is captured. If there is a quick fix let me know, or I will just start reading the manuals

Thanks again
