Hi,
I have a MAC running v 10.5
I have Audacity v 1.2.5
w/ Lame

I have a big WMA file (from Olympic voice recorder) - that need to ripped into individual MP3 tracks.
I loaded the big WMA file into Audacity - it translates to a small file that just squeaks through.
How do I load the big WMA file and convert it into MP3 ? Is there any config that I am missing.

I remember having done this before an year or so back...i guess i am missing something.

After this I plan on ripping this big file into individual tracks.

The big WMA file works fine with Quicktime Player.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Srikanth

<<<small file that just squeaks through.>>>

Youi mean it plays very rapidly? Yes, that means Audacity doesn't know what kind of file it is.

Do you have Quicktime Pro? Anybody doing radio or television production should have QTP in their tool chest. If you do, just Export the track as WAV, slide it into Audacity and edit.

If you don't, then you need to find Super or Switch or pop for a license of Flip4Mac. Any of those should convert.

You didn't say if you had an Intel Mac. Do you? There are known serious problems with 1.2.5 and Mac/Leopard/Intel. If you start having problems with the keyboard not following you or doing odd things, you should give serious consideration to upgrading to Audacity 1.3.7. You can have both on your machine as long as you only use one at a time. 1.2 projects will open in 1.3, but not the other way around.
