Whenever I try to create a Karaoke track on Audacity all I get is muffled sound. I tried splitting the track, making both of them mono, and inverting the second track numerous times, but the sound still sounded muffled. Can you help me so that I don't get a muffled sound on Audacity?

The quality produced when using centre pan removal (vocal removal) is entirely down to the audio that you are starting with.
MP3s rarely produce good results because of the way that the MP3 encoding mangles the stereo.
To check that you have the method right (which I think you have) try using the technique on the short sound that I have attached. You should hear a lot of noise before centre pan removal, and a clear tone after.

"Vocal Removal" is a very abbreviated name that covers a lot of activities and conditions.
One of the conditions is that the show not be in mono. You can have two tracks and still have a mono show -- the same thing exactly on left and right. Also known as two-track mono.
The tool works by having the singer in the middle with the violins on the left and the brass on the right (for example). The software sucks out everything in the middle.
If you have a two-track mono show, all the instruments and the singer are in the middle and the software has no way to "find" the singer. In that case, you may get a low-level, muffled show. The software is trying to remove everything in the middle, which in this case is the whole orchestra.
You probably can't do vocal removal with that song.
