Hotkey and saving files (Bug?)

Hi there,
there is an anoying bug in the Mac-Version of Audacity. It seems that Audacity
doesn't deactivate the hotkeys while the user fills in a filename while
saving. So for example if I use an "R" in the name of the file, that I want
to save, Audacity begins to record?!

Normally, I would berate you about naturally assuming any bad behavior is a bug, but in this case you're right. Multiple people on many different machines, including me, figured out that Audacity 1.2.5 running under Leopard on an Intel machine fails. The official recommendation is trash the program and upgrade to 1.3.7.
Very few people found that they could trash their audacity.cfg file and make Audacity rebuild it from scratch. On rare occasions that helps, but it didn't help me and it probably won't help you, either.
Don't let the "Unstable Beta" software fool you. 1.3.7 has been pretty severely beaten up and is pretty well behaved. My Intel Mac is running Tiger and so my Audacity 1.2.5 ran perfectly. It was a nasty shock when I upgraded to Leopard. Most of my production is on a slightly earlier 1.3. The tools are enormously more comprehensive and one of my favorite volume compressor/managers only runs under 1.3.
