I installed Lame for Audacity repeatedly. If I don't default, I see that it installs in a LIB/AUDACITY file. But I can't find it. I do finder searches for files modified today. Somehow I need to tell Audacity where they are, but I can't find them!
How do I find them?
Where are my lame files?

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Let's try...
User > koz > Library > Application Support > audacity
Yours won't say "koz."
The file you're actually looking for is libmp3lame.dylib
All that's assuming an Intel Mac.
Apple > About This Mac > Processor.
Do you have an Intel Mac, or Power PC?
<<<If I don't default>>>
Say that again and use different words.

Re: Where are my lame files?
I could not find
/Users/HBrazee/Library/Application Support/Audacity
I could not find libmp3lame.dylib.
The Lame libraries that I installed are named: Lame Library v3.98.2 for Audacity.
When I run Lame Library v3.98.2 for Audacity.pkg it first asks me to select a volume, I select "Macintosh HD".
It tells me "You have chosen to install this software in the folder “lib” on the volume “Macintosh HD”."
If I hit (Choose Folder...) to find out where it is installing it (by default), it shows a default finder (without the path which I have set up for my regular finder) of libaudacity. I see a bunch of files which includes the one I can't find above. I hit the [|] button to try to find where I am, but that shows only the audacity directory here. I opened terminal and tried to find lib in the root. No luck.
I continued, it installed, but I have no idea where. Finder won't find the file, spotlight won't find the file.

Re: Where are my lame files?
I decided to go on - I'll keep looking for my lib directory to clean up later, but for now I copied libmp3lame.dylib to a directory I know about.
When I ran Audacity, it looked for Only LameLib, which had this file grayed out. Then I enabled all files, and selected libmp3lame.dylib, and tried to open it. Audacity could not open MP3 encoding library.

Re: Where are my lame files?
I think the system administrators Did Something to make the lame process much easier and I'm not sure I like very much what they did.
