matching beats per minute

Post by SimplyFood » Wed Jan 07, 2009 4:49 pm

Does anybody out there know how to do this?
I have two sound trackts that I would like to make into one, but the BPM are different. Is there anyway of finding out what the bpm are in one song and changing the tempo of the other to match?

You change the characteristics of a song by selecting it and Effect > Change > Pitch/Speed/Tempo.

You get the BPM with a fashionable, colorful Swatch® with sweep second hand and a minute of your life. The other possibility is Google your brains out for the INFO on the original song, and hope to goodness nobody changed it between then and the time you got it.

I wasn't too happy with those tools in 1.2. You might try the tools in 1.3.

You can install 1.2 and 1.3 at the same. Only use them one at a time.

Thanks for the info. It looks like it's best to do it the old fashioned way - with counting it out - a metronome would work. I did manage to pull two songs together by selecting the same verse, and then under "change tempo" changing one of the verses to match the other in length. Then, under tempo it gives the percentage of change. I then changed the entire song length using that percentage. It worked.
