I have just installed audacity version1.2.6 on my mac G4 os 10.5.6. I recorded a track for a test and want to convert tract to a mp3 file. I downloaded the plug in lame library version 3.98.2 to use when making a mp3 file. When I go to access the plugin for the first time the computer is asking for a different file name "LameLib" and when I try to access the file there "libmp3lame.dylib" it asks if this "is correct file to export MP3" I say yes and I get "could not open MP3 encoding lib" I am not sure what to do now? Any help would be greatly appreciated

The first thing you can do is trash libmp3lame.dylib or give it to somebody who has an Intel based Mac, which you don't. You have a Motorola Power PC (PPC) Mac and you need to go back up and download the correct lame library for your machine.

("lame" is a program name, it's not a description of how well it works.)
