Exporting aiff files

Post by clevedon » Wed Dec 31, 2008 12:40 pm

When i export one side of a vinyl to iTunes using the command 'export multiple..' it tells me it has exported all the files to the desktop. If there are 5 tracks, for example, it appears to export 5 tracks as I can see 5 progress bars appearing consecutively. However, when i look to my desktop the first file NEVER appears. i have to then export it seperately as a selected file. the first file on the desktop is always labelled < -2.aiff > So whatever happens to < -1.aiff > !!!? I am using Mac OS X 10.5 leopard with audacity and an Ion iTUSB turntable. :?

Are you Exporting Multiple from the original turntable capture project? What happens if you clear all the labels and Export As WAV, load the single stand-alone WAV file, chop it up again and try the Export Multiple?

This wouldn't be the first time a USB turntable has created an unstable capture. USB turntables can create unstable conditions all over your computer. So if anything else "magic" happens to your machine, unplug the turntable and restart your Mac.

The next step in this process is the turntable will stop working completely, or produce badly damaged shows.

Thanks kozikowski, but there is no option to export as WAV; only as aiff, mp3 , or ogg vorbis.

Dig in Audacity > Preferences > File Formats.
