No USB Audio Codec Option

I downloaded version 1.3.6 (Unicode) for use on my Mac, with OSX Leopard.

I want to hook up my Pro-Ject Debut III turntable. When I go into preferences for Recording Device, there's no option for the USB, even after I plug in the turntable.

<<<Pro-Ject Debut III>>>

The Pro-Ject Debut III doesn't have USB. The Pro-Ject Debut III Phono USB does.

Audacity is a complete slave to the machine it's running on. If the Leopard System Preferences panels can't see the turntable, then Audacity won't see it, either.

You probably have one of two problems. The less likely one is that the turntable is invisible to Leopard because of some error, interface coding, or programming decision. The vastly more likely one is that the turntable failed like the billions of others we get on the forum. Can you try the turntable on another Mac?

The desperation method, since this turntable has a built-in phono preamplifier, is to plug it straight away into the Line-In of your Mac with an RCA to 3.5mm stereo adapter cable. The Mac people have this method available if the USB goes into the dirt.

Thanks, but it was easier than that.
I just re-started the computer and everything works fine.
