Crash Recovery is unfortunately not very good in 1.2 (It is much improved in 1.3, much more automated and Iit does work in 1.3 I had to use it this weekend). This page from the Wiki may help you in recovering your 1.2 project: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... shRecovery

I also seem to remember seeing previous postings about a similar error message - so you might try using the "Search" function on the forum (see top right of the page).
For example see this thread: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic ... med#p27542
And this one: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic ... med#p25090
An this one too: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic ... ell+formed

Good luck,

WC

<<<I closed the file to take a break.>>>

That's the impression Audacity gives you, but if you saved your work, what you actually did was save the Audacity Project, which, depending on how complicated your show is, could be thousands of files.

If you have a normal stereo show, we recommend Export As WAV and that actually does give you a single, stand-alone sound file of the show so far. Then Save the Project and go on break. If the Project turns to dust, you can open up the WAV file and keep going that way.

We strongly recommend Export As WAV at each live capture session. Capturing a live performance to a Project and editing it like that is loudly begging for trouble.

If you have a multiple layer, many channel show, there isn't a really good way out. We're still investigating this one.
