Trouble with vocoder plugin in Audacity 1.3.6

Hi, I recently downloaded Audacity 1.3.6 for Mac os x. I tried to use the vocoder effect by doing this:

1) Carrier audio (speaking into a mic) - Right Channel
Modulator audio - Left Channel

2) Next without highlighting any of the two, I went into Effect -> Spectral Processor -> Vocoder

3) I set the Channel processing to: 1 (Right Channel)

Ok, now however, regardless of the settings I choose, it always gives me this message: "Nyquist did not return audio".

What does this mean? How can I fix this?

Traditional Audacity filters only work after you select some audio.

Even if I select either one or both, it gives me the same message...

I think you have them backwards, but you should have gotten something when you pressed the go button.

Where did you get the plugin from so I can get the same one? I need a URL.

Did you have your right and left channels as left/right channels of a stereo track?
If you have 2 mono tracks, one selected as L and the other as R, it will give that error. To make them into a stereo track, select both tracks and use "Mix and Render".

I know this is a little awkward, but I think that you are using the Nyquist Vocoder, and Nyquist in Audacity has a limitation that it can not differentiate between different tracks, so both channels must be in the same track.

It is shipped with Audacity 1.3.5 (possibly 1.3.6 as well, but I've just got 1.3.5 installed at the moment).

I have included it as an attachment - just unzip it into your plug-ins folder.
