I'm a totally confused beginner when it comes to "using plug-ins" for anything that isn't automatic. I purchased, in my ignorance on this subject, SoundSoap-2 from CompUSA during a store closure. Recently, without having tried the first program, I also purchased SoundSoap Pro directly from BIAS. I thought it was an upgrade to SoundSoap 2 and a stand alone program like Toast with Jam. NOT SO!

Does anyone here use a combination of Audacity with the Soaps? How do I get the Soap Pro "plug-ins" into Audacity? I wish now I had just kept it simple and stayed with my Toast w/Jam but now I've got them and several hundred vinyl albums and cassettes to play with. At age 75, I probably won't live long enough to finish but I would like to get started.

Any help out there?

I'm going to have to get my Sound Soap license out of the garage to resolve this one, but until I do that, what problem are we solving with SS?

You connected two things that have nothing to do with each other. "I'm transferring my vinyl and I need Sound Soap."

I'm newly registered on the Sound Soap forum. My license has been out in the garage for a while, so it seems I dropped off the registration radar. This can be fixed.

Anyway, while I was in there, I ran across someone hoping to clean up vinyl with his Sound Soap.

IMO Soundsoap is much better for broadband noise reduction than for click removal.

SS Pro does a better job with clicks, but by far the best/cheapest solution out there is a little java program called Click Repair written by Brian Davies - search the web for it.

Using this in conjunction with Soundsoap provides good results for not a lot of money.

i know this is a forum for audacity but i just bought soundsoap 2 and i cant make head nor tail of it.
i watched their video but that guy goes to fast for me..im trying to edit songs from 78s and lps..
does anyone here have any idea how soundsoap works?place it here.thanks.
