<<<And I NEVER saw this bug on the G4.>>>
We warn people that a "bug" is a very specific set of circumstances that are remarkably difficult to produce. Unstable performance of a program on your machine does not constitute a bug.
I think the last time somebody turned up with a similar problem we asked them to trash the Audacity preference file.
Trash Mac Audacity Preferences
/SystemDrive/Users/koz/Library/Preferences/audacity Preferences
Later Audacity variations called the file slightly different things, but I think that's still the location. [time passes] Yes, on my Intel machine, it's called audacity.cfg. Please know when you do that, everything about Audacity will start over from First Birthday.

Re: upgrading from PPC to Intel problems
Because I was having problems on my intel Mac with 1.2.5, I elected to record on a PPC Mac with 1.2.6 and bring across the aup and data files. I had no problems on my intel Mac accessing the 1.2.6 files and exporting in an MP3 format.

Don't fall in love with that process. It's a lot more brittle than you think. As long as your Projects are really simple and you pay strict attention to the directories and folder locations, it works.
We tell people you can't email a project because at best people manage a 20% or so success rate when they try it on their machines.
