Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Editing selection now specific length, not moveable

Post by wellboa » Wed May 11, 2011 5:40 pm

I am using Audacity 1.3.12 on Mac OS 10.6.7. Monday, I can select a fraction of audio file to edit to remove a random click anywhere in the waveform. Today, I can only select a very large section of audio, at least 1/10th of a second. I have not yet updated Audacity. Would that be the fix or is there something else going on here? Is there a way to default all preferences as I have changed some today hoping that would fix the issue?

Thanks

Do you have "Snap To" selected in the lower part of the work window? If you do, deselect and restart Audacity.

"Forehead slap" Yes. Yes I do. A feature I don't use often and apparently forgot to turn off. Thank you!

We're slowly shutting down the Audacity 1.2 forum, so you might want to upgrade.

Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported,
patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can
be unstable on newer computers.

Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here...

http://audacityteam.org/download/

You can install both audacity 1.2 and Audacity 1.3 on
the same computer, but only use one at a time.

Audacity 1.2 will not open projects made on Audacity 1.3.

If you use MP3 or some of the more modern audio
compression formats, get Lame and FFMpeg software
from the same web site. Do not use older software
or software from other web sites, even though they
may have the same names.
