can't monitor with soundflower

I'm trying to record some You Tube and radio music which macs cannot do without help. Downloaded Soundflower with which I can now record those sources but I can't hear it in my headphone while I'm recording. Software playthrough in Transport is on. So is hardware and software playback in preferences. I downloaded another application called Lineln but that didn't seem to sound to the the fore.

What could be wrong here?

Start with you're using Audacity 1.2. The minute you start having trouble with Audacity 1.2, we push you off to Audacity 1.3. Koz

Audacity 1.2 is very old and no longer supported,
patched, corrected, or updated. Audacity 1.2 can
be unstable on newer computers.

Download and install the latest Audacity 1.3 from here...

http://audacityteam.org/download/

You can install both audacity 1.2 and Audacity 1.3 on
the same computer, but only use one at a time.

Audacity 1.2 will not open projects made on Audacity 1.3.

If you use MP3 or some of the more modern audio
compression formats, get Lame and FFMpeg software
from the same web site. Do not use older software
or software from other web sites, even though they
may have the same names.

When you get to Audacity 1.3, truck through Bill's writeup on SoundFlower.
