Audacity fails to open after installing swh-plugins

I installed Audacity 1.2.6, opened fine. Then I downloaded swh-plugins and installed.
Audacity refuses to open after this. Can't find where these plug-ins went on the HD.
Using Mac version OX 10.4.11
Any clues?

Maybe you should try to reinstall Audacity 1.2.6.

The plug-ins should go in the plug-in folder which is in the Audacity program folder.
