Error opening project

Hey there ! I have a project that won't open. When I try the following message pops up:
Error: reference to invalid character number at line 13.
Help !!

Are you sure you are using Audacity version 1.2.x? One would expect to find that error in line 3 of the .aup file for a 1.2.x project.
