Hello to all,
As a previous poster who has solved his initial problem, I am back for more. I am now able to listen to my LP's using a Numark TTUSB turntable through audacity. However when I am listening to records through Audacity the playback will all of a sudden become static-like and distorted. If I turn off "monitor input" and then turn it on again the problem will temporarily go away. Any way to get more consistent playback from audacity??
Thanks,
max

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

If you've been haunting the forums, you know that unstable audio problems like yours always respond to doing the transfers using an analog pathway instead of the USB.

Once your system starts exhibiting audio crackling and odd distortion, there is no recovery.
There are a lot of Secret Solutions if you want to try them:
Reseat the USB cable
Change the USB cable.
Make the USB cable shorter
Make the USB cable longer
Put a USB Hub in line with the computer
Take the USB Hub out.
Upgrade Audacity
Downgrade Audacity
Reverse the power plug
I have the whole list here somewhere.
