I've been using Audacity on my Windows machine for a while. Finally got around to installing it on my Mac. Here's my problem.
When I try to export a selection as mp3, things get weird.
Once I input the file name, the selected are disappears. Then the output isn't exactly the area I selected.
Any tips on this ?

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Upgrade to 1.3.12 http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_mac
1.2.x has a weird thing where when you type certain characters into the file save dialog box they trigger actions in Audacity. That could be why the selection is changing.

Re: Export selected section
it seems any input affects my selected area. once I overwrite the existing file name, things go bad.
Does version 1.3 have the same problem ?

Re: Export selected section
audacity 1.2.x doesn't work well on modern macs (10.5 or higher). Upgrading to 1.3.12 is strongly recommended!

Yup 1.3 seems much better.
