Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

<<<Nevermind.....got it>>>

But we do mind. You posted on a forum whose purpose is to share as much information as possible. What happened and how did you fix it?

Please, please, please can anyone answer this question? I am not a new user to audacity, but I am new to the mac version. I have been cutting out portions of an mp3 file, for a short while with no trouble. But for no apparent reason, all of a sudden I cannot cut, copy, save, add effects, etc--these things are grayed out in the menus. It happened once tonight, and exiting and restarting the program fixed the problem. I can't do that now, though, since I can't save or export the current file I'm working on and I don't want to lose what I'e done. I'm sure it's something ridiculously stupid that I am overlooking, but I just can't figure it out. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate your advice.
:?: Help!!! :?:
Thanks,
Courtney

First, I would not have posted at the bottom of somebody else's post. It greatly restricts the number of people that will see your question. I found you by accident.

Sudden Unexplained OS-X insanity can be caused by your hard drive filling up. How big is your hard drive and how much stuff do you have on it?

courtnic7, that already happened to somebody else. Simply, he forgot he started Playback and paussed it. Needs to be Stopped before editing.
