Greetings:
I am new to this program. When I start a new track it will not let me record I keep getting an error message. Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device setting and the project sample rate. What do I need to do? Can not find project sample rate and Thought I did the input device. Still not working.

The sample rate is in "project rate" bottom left of the Audacity window. Is this an external audio device you are recording from? If so you should use Audacity Beta 1.3.12 and read these instructions for setting up your input in Apple Audio MIDI Setup.dsgoldsmith wrote:I am new to this program. If you are on OS X 10.6.x you would be better using 1.3.12 irrespective of the sound device.
