Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Small Window Named Invisible

Post by m6wodoard » Fri Aug 13, 2010 2:41 pm

When opening Audacity a small window appears off screen towards the right. The window is named "invisible" and the only way to view it is to use Expose's All Windows command. What does this window do? Why is it there?

How did you find it? How did you know to execute the command?

More importantly, does it happen in Audacity 1.3.12?

Modern Macs do not support Audacity 1.2, so when you start having wacky problems, that's your cue to upgrade.

It is an Expose command in which I placed in the left bottom corner called "All Windows". All configurable from the System Preferences under Expose and Spaces. It is a tool I use everyday to quickly switch between different program windows. When I drag my mouse to the corner the Window appears coming from off screen at the bottom right. I can't close it, I cant view it when I click on it, it just goes back off screen.

However since the upgrade to 1.3.12 the mystery window does not appear. Thank you for your assistance and speedy response, I look forward to using this fantastic program.

Thanks Again,
Matt

I have Audacity 1.2.5. on a year old, then brand new Macbook pro.
I had the same suspect looking invisible window in the corner.
If it becomes a problem, I will try upgrading as well.

Upgrading to 1.3.12 is highly recommended. The old 1.2.x series are now very old, known to have bugs and unmaintained (so the bugs will not be fixed).
